My dad said we were going to take over the world.
He said that we had to. My whole life I heard the phrase,
"You and me need to take over the world."
Funny how fast all of that can change.
My dad said I needed to keep myself safe,
incase my safety was never garunteed to any one place.
"Aim for the eyes, the groin, the throat and the face."
Relevant given our current political state.
My dad said I needed to be beautiful but plain. Clearly we were on the same page.
"Is that too much or is that around the same?"
Blend in and don't complain.
My dad said don't just marry rich,
don't be a snitch and don't scratch any but your own itch.
"Mary powerful and watch in ignorant bliss."
It is easy to say he did not always win.
My dad said don't argue with their sins
since they are bigger than any of us can condem
"Let resting giants sleep."
My dad said it is okay to start small,
try your best and stand tall
"Never say you can't just because it can't happen now."
